Art is a language. It speaks of truth and beauty. I am on a journey to discover the Masters of Art, shine a light on their greatness and tell their story. Everyone has a story. By Jackie Honsig-Erlenburg

Corot, The Bridge at Mantes, 1868-70 / The Vale, 1855-60 / The Bridge at Narni, 1825 / Volterra the Citadel, 1834

The Great Master of the Landscape. If I look long enough I can imagine myself in these places. Seeing them and experiencing them exactly as they are described. So incredibly beautifully. Well…one can dream!

Jean Baptiste Camille Corot on Colour and Tone:

That which I look for while I paint is the form, the harmony, the value of the tones. Colour comes afterwards. It is like someone one welcomes, and because that someone will be upright, honest, and beyond reproach, one receives him with real pleasure and without fear… Colour comes afterwards for me because above all I like the unity, the harmony in tones; whereas colour by itself sometimes gives a harshness which I do not like.
