Art writer. Art reader. Art lover.
Art is a language. One that speaks of truth and of humanity. I am on a journey to discover the Masters of Art and shine a light on their greatness. By Jackie Honsig-Erlenburg

Sir Hans Heysen, A Cottage Bunch, 1930 / A Bowl of Roses, 1924

“I cannot help feeling that my heart lies with these men who see intense and almost religious beauty in simple Nature that surrounds us in the beauty of the skies and the mystery of the earth.’”

Heysen, the German-born Australian artist, is best known, remembered and loved for his landscape paintings of gun trees against atmospheric effects of light. He loved nature. But he was also a painter of flowers. Interior images, well articulated and evocative.
