Art is a language. One that speaks of truth and of humanity. I am on a journey to discover the Masters of Art and shine a light on their greatness. By Jackie Honsig-Erlenburg

Letter to John Fisher from John Constable, Hampstead, 23 October, 1821

That landscape painter who does not make his skies a very material part of his composition neglects to avail himself of one of his greatest aids. Sir Joshua Reynolds, speaking of Titian, of Salvator, and of Claude, says: ‘Even their skies seem to sympathise with their subjects.’

Constable was certainly the painter of skies. Extraordinary skies.

Personally, I’m off to search for bluer ones than London currently has to offer… Au revoir!
